The Sensormatic Ultra Post slave pillar is a refurbished Sensormatic 58 Khz security pillar, which is a secondary pillar used in conjunction with a master pillar. One master tower will cover a single door placed on the handle side of the doorway. If you wish to cover a double doorway without a tower in the middle you must use an ultra post master and slave tower. This technology is a good alternative when checkpoint frequency systems are not a good fit for a smaller store. A good example of where these towers are used is gas stations and convenience stores. There is a lot of metal in the fronts of these stores including the racks and shelves.
Advantages to an ultra post security system:
1. Works well around metal in environment so can be installed close to meal door frames.
2. Disposable labels are much smaller ( 1 1/2″ x 1/4″)
3. Pick rate is a bit higher so it will ring a tag a bit more accurately than a checkpoint tower.
Disadvantages of the Ultra Post Security Pillar:
1. Must be installed by a technician ($900-$1500 or more additional cost depending on location and number of towers, call for estimate)
2. Disposable labels are raised up so a bit more noticeable by shoplifter.
3. Original cost of equipment more expensive.
4. Maintenance after install more expensive.
The ultra post security pillars are a good solution for stores who can not use the checkpoint type security due to environmental factors. This tower requires dedicated electrical outlet(s) that are on their own breaker. It is sensitive to electrical noise and your electrician can give you dedicated ground and neutral wires. Let our techs help you communicate with your electrician so you get the correct hookup for these towers. Let SensorTags Inc schedule your install today. This item is just the slave tower and needs a master tower to work and a professional install as well.
Product Description:
The Sensormatic™ 58 KHz Ultra Post Slave Pillar is a refurbished secondary security tower designed to be used with a master pillar. This slave tower cannot function independently; it must be connected to a master unit to work effectively. A master/slave combination is ideal for covering a 6-foot doorway, especially in environments with excessive metal objects, such as gas stations and convenience stores. The Ultra Post system is often preferred when traditional checkpoint frequency systems are not suitable for smaller stores.
Coverage:
Single Door: One master pillar can cover a single door when placed on the handle side.
Double Door: One master pillar can cover a double door if positioned in the middle. For full double door coverage without a center tower, a master and slave pillar combination is required.
Advantages of the Ultra Post System:
Effective in Metal-Rich Environments: Can be installed near metal door frames and other metal fixtures.
Smaller Disposable Labels: Labels are much smaller (1 1/2″ x 1/4″), making them less conspicuous.
Higher Pick Rate: Offers more accurate tag detection than checkpoint towers.
Disadvantages of the Ultra Post System:
Installation Cost: Requires professional installation, which can cost $900-$1500 or more, depending on location and the number of towers (call for an estimate).
Raised Disposable Labels: Slightly more noticeable to shoplifters.
Higher Initial Equipment Cost: More expensive upfront compared to other systems.
Ongoing Maintenance Costs: Maintenance and upkeep after installation can also be more expensive.
Technical Requirements:
The Ultra Post pillars require dedicated electrical outlets with their own breakers. They are sensitive to electrical noise, so it’s important to have dedicated ground and neutral wires. SensorTags Inc can assist with communication between your electrician and our technicians to ensure proper installation.
Note:
This item includes only the slave pillar. A master pillar and professional installation are required for operation. Let SensorTags Inc schedule your Sensormatic Ultra Post installation today for a seamless setup.
